About Niranjani Ghat
This Ghat belongs to the Naga Sadhus who established Niranjani Akhara here in 1897. Before 1897 the Akhara was originally a part of Chet Singh fort. Now there are four temples consisting of the Paduka (holy wooden footwear) of Niranjani Maharaj, Durga, Gauri-Shankar, and mother Ganga idols. The people do not take baths here owing to lesser religious importance. The ghat here was renovated in 1948 by the state Govt.
