Kedar Ghat
Kedar Ghat is one of the most famous ghats in Varanasi, located on the banks of the Ganges River. This ghat is known for its stunning architecture, intricate carvings, and religious significance. It is named after Lord Shiva's Kedarnath temple, which is situated in the Himalayas. The Kedar Ghat is believed to be one of the 84 ghats built by Adi Shankaracharya.
One of the major attractions of the Kedar Ghat is the Kedareshwara Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple is believed to have been built during the 18th century and has striking architecture with intricate carvings and sculptures. The temple is located at the top of the ghat and can be reached by climbing a flight of stairs.
The Kedar Ghat is also famous for the evening aarti, a ritual performed every evening to worship the Ganges River. The aarti ceremony involves chanting, singing, and lighting lamps. It is a breathtaking experience to witness the aarti ceremony at the Kedar Ghat, as the entire ghat is illuminated with the glow of the lamps.
