Sarang Nath Mahadev Temple

Dedicated to Lord Shiva as ‘Lord of Deer’ or ‘Sarangnath’, this ancient temple houses two Shiva lingams and a huge adjoining pond called ‘Sarangnath Kund’. The name ‘Sarnath’ originated from here only! Sarang Nath Mahadev temple is a popular destination for tourists who visit Kashi Dham. The temple attracts a large number of devotees throughout the year, especially during the festival of Mahashivratri, which is celebrated with great enthusiasm and devotion. It is believed that offering prayers at this temple and taking a dip in the nearby Sarangnath Kund (pond) can wash away all sins and bring blessings of Lord Shiva.
